Lovense

They say that hunger sharpens the mind, but as it happens — so does a lack of sex. In 2009, the founder of this brand was trying to maintain a long-distance relationship, but back then, the market didn't provide any solutions. In just one year, Remote Pleasure — a remote control vibrator controlled via Skype — was launched. The adventure had begun.

The history of literature and cinema is full of difficult and painful long-distance love stories. Torrid and unhappy romances, couples separated by thousands of miles without being able to feel each other's touch; forced to dream of being together. The example we like best is that of James Joyce and Nora Barnacle. Separated for long periods, the eccentric author of Ulysses and his wife kept an intimate correspondence that is still preserved today. “I dream of you in filthy poses sometimes. I imagine things so very dirty that I will not write them until I see how you write yourself. The smallest things give me a great cockstand (...) At such moments I feel mad to do it in some filthy way, to feel your hot lecherous lips sucking away at me, to fuck between your two rosy-tipped bubbies, to come on your face and squirt it over your hot cheeks and eyes, to stick it between the cheeks of your rump and bugger you”. As you can see, they didn't have any qualms about keeping the flame of passion alive through an earlier version of sexting. These paper letters didn't arrive like a Whatsapp message in real time, but could take months to reach their long-suffering addressee. What would they have done if Lovense had already existed? Wonderful things.

They say that hunger sharpens the mind — but so does a lack of sex. In 2009, the founder of this brand was trying to maintain a long-distance relationship. “Lack of sexual intimacy was a serious problem in the relationship”, it says on the company's website. If he found himself in a situation like that, others must have been going through the same thing as well. However, at that time, the market didn't offer great solutions for couples looking for teledildonic toys — so the adventure began. Remote Pleasure, a remote control vibrator controlled via Skype, was launched just a year later. The invention was a great success, but they knew it could be improved.

First prototypes

In 2013, they launched Max and Nora — the first toys of this type to work through an application. Nora was the first rampant rabbit and Max the first male masturbator with Bluetooth. The most fabulous thing about these two items was not only that they could be controlled over short distances or thousands of miles, but users had the option of synchronising with each other. A Max could be synchronised with a Nora, a Nora with a Nora, or a Max with a Max — and one would respond to the movements of the other. The future had arrived and thousands of people welcomed it with open arms.

A frantic few years followed. In 2015, a powerful remote-controlled bullet vibrator called Lush was released along with a new application that had tons of extra features. They received such a positive response from users that it even raised over a hundred thousand dollars on the crowdfunding website Indiegogo. They initially intended to launch the Lush and an anal vibrator with Bluetooth at the same time, but the plug wouldn't be ready for another 18 months. Once again, the response at Indiegogo was unbelievable — more than 200,000 dollars was raised from pre-orders alone.

Bullet vibrators, prostate stimulators and G-spot vibrators

Ambi is a highly original mini bullet vibrator, Edge is an adjustable prostate massager, Domi is a super powerful mini wand, and Osci is a G-spot toy with patented oscillating technology. 2017 was a great year for the Lovense team. It launched four sex toys and managed to raise over $327,000 in pre-orders on the same crowdfunding platform. Two new applications, a USB bluetooth adapter for connecting any Lovense toy to a Windows PC, and new versions of toys (the Lush 2, the Domi 2, the Max 2 and the Osci 2) were all launched. All of these came as a result of the great work carried out by a brand that has managed to establish itself as a leader in the world of remote sex toys.

Quality and safety

Lovense uses high-quality materials in its products that are 100% safe for the body. The vast majority are made of medical silicone with the exception of the Max 2, which has a hypoallergenic TPE inner sleeve. Each model has been designed to adapt comfortably to the body's own curves — making it easy to use alone or with a partner.

All Lovense sex toys are waterproof, rechargeable and virtually silent. When it comes to configuring the applications, no technical skills are required — they're completely intuitive. Just follow the step-by-step instructions that will appear once you download it to your mobile device.

With Lovense, long-distance relationships will never be the same again. That's a promise.
