If our most hidden fantasies are a perversion, then, the truth is — it's a fairly common perversion. At EroticFeel, we open the doors to a different, alternative, but by no means trivial kind of pleasure. BDSM is a ritual and, as such, certain items are required to carry it out. "From time to time he would look for a prostitute, get completely naked (she was not to take anything off), and have her trample him, whip him and beat him. The libidinous subject would lick the woman's foot, which he could only do when he was very excited; then he would ejaculate.” 'Psychopathia sexualis' was the first book entirely dedicated to sexual obsessions or paraphilias. Often, people feel guilty or different for desiring or carrying out practices that are outside of conventional, 'normal' sexual routines. Frequently, it is the very concept of the taboo that makes something interesting and exciting. However, contrary to what many people think, most people fantasize about the same situations. This is how sexologist Justin Lehmiller explains it. After surveying more than 4,000 Americans between the ages of 18 and 87, of different gender identities, sexual orientations, demographic backgrounds and political profiles, he drew a wonderful conclusion:if our most hidden fantasies are a perversion, the truth is that it is a fairly widespread perversion.
The data collected from the study indicates that these sexual fantasies can be divided into three major categories. By far the most popular of these categories comprises of fantasies relating to group sex (the threesome landslide). Ninety-five per cent of the men surveyed and 87 per cent of the women said they fantasized about group sex. The second block is related to sex in public places —parks, lifts, the office, or the aeroplane toilets. Fantasies that involve the use of sex toys are also included within this group. The most common of these items being handcuffs and blindfolds. And this ties in perfectly with the third category — BDSM. 27% of respondents stated that their preferred fantasies were directly related to bondage, discipline and domination. In addition, 79% confessed to fantasizing about bondage, more than half about discipline (giving or receiving orders), and 73% about inflicting or seeking out pain. Are we all sadomasochists? Perhaps.
BDSM is an acronym made up of the ''B'' from bondage, the ''D/S'' from domination and submission, and the ''S/M'' from sadomasochism. Josep Lapidario, a writer and BDSM enthusiast, has dedicated many articles to the subject. He claims that even today "there is still widespread social prejudice against BDSM. This comes in part from many years of cheap sensationalism. Most movies depict sadomasochism as aggressive, dark and destructive, when in fact it is highly pleasurable if practised in a mature way".
Although people tend to think that BDSM and sadomasochism are synonymous —they're definitely not. Sadomasochism is just one part — one more activity within a much broader world. The term 'sado' or 'sadism' comes from the Marquis de Sade — an 18th century French nobleman. He spent his life in prisons, brothels and psychiatric hospitals. He also who shocked Puritans and non-Puritans alike with books in which he narrated all kinds of perversions and sexual crimes. Masochism, on the other hand, owes its name to the Austrian writer Leopold von Sacher-Masoch. In the 19th century he wrote 'The Venus of the Furs', a semi-autobiographical novel and the first in a series titled 'Love'. In the book, he reveals his mistress-slave relationship with a lady who would become known as the first famous dominatrix in history.
To delve a little deeper into sadomasochism and the controversy it stirs up, let's take a look at French philosopher Michel Foucault’s definition. “Sadomasochism is the real creation of new possibilities of pleasure. The idea that S&M practice is a way of liberating this violence, this aggression, is stupid. We know very well what all those people are doing is not aggressive; they are inventing new possibilities of pleasure with strange parts of their body — through the eroticization of the body”.
The fact is, for those who still have doubts, that BDSM covers everything from bondage to the most severe spankings. Maybe you're fond of being given orders in bed, of a certain degree of aggression, or of the feel of a rope being wrapped around your wrists. You may enjoy it all, or just some parts of it. You might prefer a gentler touch, or more savage practices. Whatever it is, in the world of BDSM anything goes (as long as it's consensual). In BDSM, like with everything else, variety is the spice of life.

Two nude or semi-nude bodies — that depends on your taste. Two men, two women, one man and one woman — you choose the combination. Now the roles are established, your arms are held firmly, and your wrists and ankles are restrained. The same is done to your legs. You're completely restrained. You’re blindfolded. You're at someone else's mercy. The material rubs your skin with a burning sensation. You like it. Should it hurt? Now, anything can be done to you. You want it.
If this fantasy excites you, you should try bondage. The term, which means servitude or slavery, refers to a game of domination in which you surrender to the other both physically and mentally. Bondage is the B of BDSM. It's the first letter, the most common, and the easiest to practise. What do you need? Browse our catalogue. We’ve got the best bondage gear on the market.
