Sluts, bitches and whores.
Prime Ministers, politicians, journalists (bitches); nurses, models, artists, singers (sluts); daughters, wives, sisters, mothers...etc. (whores). Terms that can obviously be used freely, loosely and interchangeably — as long as the target is female (or displays overtly ‘female characteristics’). Raise your hand if you've never been called a 'slut, a bitch or a whore’; If you've never heard any of these words muttered to you by a spurned drunk; by a work or school bully — or even shouted across the street by a complete stranger. But let she who has never uttered at least one of these delightful insults cast the first stone. Most of us have been guilty of using them at one time or another — whether its against your overbearing boss or that ‘slut’ who ‘stole’ your boyfriend when you were 17.
